Often called the father of American musical comedy, George M. Cohan's memory lives on thanks in part to a film biographyYankee Doodle Dandy. According to John Kenrick, Cohan was America's first show business superstar, known coast to coast as a successful actor, singer, dancer,playwright, composer, librettist, director and producer.
