While writing a brief biography of composer/lyricist Stephen Schwartz on a freelance assignment, I discovered two things: a) The information I needed had not been systematically collected, and b) everything about Stephen's music world was totally fascinating to me. This resulted in a web site http://www.musicalschwartz.com/

MusicalWriters.com is an extention of that interest, and Stephen Schwartz's own interest in advising the concerns of new writers of musicals, in the production of the book, the music, and lyrics. We hope to present the views and advice of many different authors and composers on this site, and provide useful resources in the form of links to books, recordings, and printed music, and eventually a regular newsletter.
