My one hour session with Holly was filled with ideas, feedback, encouragement and insights into the structure of a great musical. I went from being blocked and stuck to having clarity and being able to move forward with positive energy. Holly was a great listener and really understood what I was trying to achieve. She is a pro and knows what she is talking about! I will be using her as an ally and resource.

  2. Donna Gay Anderson

Holly was generous and forthright as she shared her experience and wisdom with me and my collaborator. Her expertise and perspective opened our path significantly. I highly recommend her services. The information she shared with us saved us a lot of time and frustration. She does not sugar coat the realities of marketing and production, but presents them in a manner that helps writers use succeed in this very competitive industry. I feel fortunate to have met her and learned from her. I will do it again!

Holly was very helpful, knowledgeable and insightful! Our musical is early in the development process and we consulted with Holly about many of the business related aspects of the project including pitch packets, readings, social media/web site promotion And much more. Her suggestions really helped move us forward in the right direction. Highly recommended!!

As writers we envision our creations complete, in our own minds, so it’s valuable to get someone outside your own head to give you feedback. I give the coaching session 5 stars. For me it was kind of a reality check. This wasn’t a session to get feedback or praise on the content of my work. Instead I wanted to see if my general understanding of the nuts and bolts stuff of the theater business is on track. Holly validated some of the notions I already had and gave me some good insights to rethink some of my preconceived ideas.

Last night I had my coaching call with Holly and now have a lot to ponder, an assignment, some new direction and more courage to go back into the salt mine to find the hidden gold and bring it forward. Her critique was very clear and her enthusiasm and ideas for my show Emma Oliver and the Song of Creation was encouraging. She asked a lot of questions and answered all of mine and was a supportive cheerleader. She was also very well prepared for the call, had looked at my website, followed links, listened to songs, looked at my submission to the Academy Readers Series and was thorough in putting together her response. I felt she cared about my musical and saw its potential. I highly recommend her as a coach.

Rebecca scheduled a convenient time for our online coaching about my music, even with my tight schedule and the different time zones. She taught me the importance of notating the score so that even if the composer cannot be present at rehearsals, the music director and singers will understand the composer’s intentions about how the song should be played and sung. Now my scores are much more detailed. I am recording the audio as soon as each score is “finished” although I can still make changes as needed for a stage production.

My private coaching session with Rebecca was a fantastic experience! It was informative and a ton of fun. She gave me great insight into what directors look for in a submitted script- what is most important to them and what isn’t. She talked me through how to present casting needs clearly and concisely. In fact, after following her pointers in this area (casting needs and detailed tracks for each actor), a university that was planning a staged reading of my musical decided to upgrade it to a full production with eight performances! Rebecca is knowledgeable, passionate about musicals, honest, and encouraging. She is also very easy to talk to and makes the experience stress-free. I’m so happy to have her as a coach! She has been an enormous help.

Holly was very, very helpful. We covered so much ground in our session. We were focussed on self-licensing and creating our pitch deck. Very concrete and useful in developing our next steps.

  9. Lisa Sniderman

I had a very helpful, constructive session with Holly, who went over my website with me, offering specific ways I could restructure the site to incorporate my musical! Everything from what to include on the menu, to what a visitor might want to know and see. Highly recommend a session with Holly-she’s very knowledgeable!

I had a private coaching session with Holly and it was exactly what I had hoped for. She was very friendly, easy to talk to, and relatable. As a first-time writer, I never felt like my questions were silly, and she made me feel like the work I’ve done so far is valuable. She answered all of my questions about lines, stage notes, scenes, formatting, and submissions directly and clearly. Speaking with her saved me a lot of time compared to endlessly researching and finding conflicting information online. I trust her experience and her opinion.
We finished up with several realistic next steps that left me energized, encouraged, and excited to get back to work immediately. It’s worth the investment. I look forward to working with Holly again!
